The Engine: The 1.5L TSI engine makes its debut in the Karoq and T-Roc. It is a good peppy engine and likes to be relaxed most of the time. The engine wakes up after 2500 rpm and makes a good sound too. The 150 bhp figure feels sufficient for this car. Overall it feels like an engine for a relaxed driver. While the Karoq isn’t as characterful as the Skoda Yeti it replaced, it’s still a great option for families looking for a roomy car that’s good to drive, practical and cheap to run. Skoda Karoq prices range from $44,590 for the Karoq Style 110TSI to $51,290 for the Karoq Sportline (4X4) 140TSI. Our reviews offer detailed analysis of the Karoq's features, design, practicality, fuel consumption, engine and transmission, safety, ownership and what it's like to The Karoq’s boot is bigger, though, with 521 litres of space to the Ateca’s 510 litres. Fold down the back seats and the Ateca has 1,604 litres and the Karoq has 1,630. However, if you get a Karoq of SE L spec or higher it comes with ‘Varioflex’ – Skoda’s name for three individual back seats that can slide forwards and backwards
The smaller of the two Ks in Skoda’s lineup of SUVs, the Karoq shares its handsome, chiselled features with the larger Kodiaq, but is a characterful car to drive in its own right. Like most of today’s Volkswagen Group small SUVs, the Karoq is built on the group’s MQB platform, shared with several other VW group cars including the new Audi Q3.
Å koda Karoq. Skoda Karoq. Good Reviews of 1.5 engine! I thought it would it be good for people, who have yet to take delivery of their Karoq (including myself), more specifically people with the 1.5 engine in both manual and DSG, to hear from people who haven't encountered any problems with the 'kangarooing' with their car.
It’s a good cruiser, but is also faster than the 3008, sprinting from 0-100km/h in nine seconds. While this is less important given how these cars will be used, it does give the Karoq just a little more flexibility. The Czech car is just as agile as the Peugeot, with tauter body control and less roll.
So while most examples of the Skoda Karoq, the Czech manufacturer’s small crossover, will be fitted with a 148bhp 1.5 TSI, you can also get one with a 187bhp 2.0 TSI engine and four-wheel drive.

Posted 14 July, 2020. I’ll need to change the tyres on our Karoq 2.0l TDi SEL 4x4 in the next month or two, probably all four. It came with Bridgestone Turanza T001s (225 50 R18) which have been fine. I’d consider getting these again but am interested in any recommendations for others.
The 2.0-litre petrol is by far the thirstiest version of Karoq at 33.2mpg. Strangely, the smallest 1.6-litre diesel isn't the most fuel efficient engine available at 49.6mpg, because the 148bhp 2.
I think it is actually pretty short sighted of Skoda to tie customers hands this way. Expecting an OTA maps update is crazy - 25GB over mobile? Also, many people will not have a convenient (or fast enough) wifi hotspot to log the car into either. Also, the data plans for the Skoda supplied SIM are pretty high for a casual user.
The Skoda Karoq simply one of the best affordable family SUVs on sale, if not the best. Despite being a few years old now it ticks all the boxes and has very few weak points. There are more exciting-looking rivals, though, and it's a shame there's no hybrid model. High quality interior with a premium feel.
